I was recently searching for a software tool that would help me figure out how to convert OLM file to MBOX format, in order to migrate Outlook for Mac 2011 items to the Microsoft Entourage 2008 email platform. A friend of mine suggested I should use OLM to MBOX Converter, and after looking over the product’s features, I decided it would truly be a valuable tool for my migration purposes.

Before using this tool, I created an OLM file containing all the Mac Outlook items such as emails, messages, address books and social calendars. After performing this step, I simply launched OLM to MBOX Converter directly on my Mac laptop and converted this OLM file to an MBOX file, which is compatible with Microsoft Entourage. I then simply imported the MBOX file consisting of all my original Mac Outlook data, but now in MBOX format, and soon enough I had the same email data on two different email services, due to how efficient OLM to MBOX Converter is.

The MBOX file format is compatible with many other email applications, though, not only Microsoft Entourage. This means that if in the future I decide to switch from using Entourage to using a platform like Apple Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird, I can just use the same MBOX file created by this tool, because these applications support the MBOX format.

How to convert OLM file to MBOX format is easier than I thought thanks to this converter, and this tool holds many extra benefits. For example, it can convert OLM files also to the EML file format, which is a format supported by applications such as Apple Mail, Microsoft Entourage 2004/2008, Mozilla Thunderbird and Apple Mail, among many others.

I should also mention that I work as a translator between the English and the Japanese languages and since most of the email exchanges with my clients were in Japanese, I am tremendously grateful for how this tool processed my email content. Even though Japanese characters are stored in a double-byte format, OLM to MBOX Converter encountered no issues converting these characters, which means that my original Outlook content remained intact in MBOX format. This preserved the visibility and readability of the characters, and of the whole initial text overall.

Moreover, I found that with the help of this tool, how to convert OLM file to MBOX format is no problem when it comes to preserving email attachments. I had over 4 GB worth of email and message attached files, and OLM to MBOX Converter made sure that all these were safely migrated to the MBOX file, in order that I would have complete access to the original set of information.

I love this converter, it has worked wonders for me! If you also want to test OLM to MBOX Converter, you can just download its free demo version from the product’s main website, which lets you convert 10 email items for each
